Overview
Product Description
The Megger SPI500 Smart Primary Injection Test System is designed for commissioning, maintenance, and high-current testing applications in substations, power plants, industrial electrical systems, and switchgear installations. The SPI500 uses adaptive current regulation to maintain a stable test current even when the impedance of the device under test changes. A single main unit provides output of up to 2,500 A. With one SPI500B booster, capacity can reach approximately 5,000 A, while two boosters allow testing at currents up to 6,500 A. The system supports both manual and automated testing. Megger's Smart Touch View Interface (STVI) provides touchscreen control, while PC-based operation enables automated test sequences, data recording, and report generation. It is suitable for testing low-voltage circuit breakers, electronic reclosers, high-speed fuses, ground fault relays, and other high-current protection equipment. Its combination of high-current capability, automatic current regulation, and expandable booster configuration makes the SPI500 suitable for field service engineers, electrical utilities, switchgear manufacturers, testing companies, and industrial maintenance departments.
